Two more people have been arrested related to a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.
These detentions come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.
A three-year-old girl was among the injured during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been released.
Police arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault near the scene. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.
Police were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.
The attack - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
